JUSTIN S O'CONNELL, M.ED
Justin is entering his eighth year in the education sector after serving students and their families in downtown Phoenix as a teacher and Teach For America corps member. Justin had the opportunity to increase his impact when he helped launch the Center for Student Achievement in 2011 as part of the Arizona Charter Schools Association. Currently, Justin serves as the Director of Academic Services and has been able to grow the program from 15 schools and one trainer to now over 75 schools and a training team of eight. Through coaching and training, Justin and his team have been able to aid policy makers, boards, school leaders, and, most importantly, teachers in achieving ambitious goals and preparing students for college and career. To highlight one example, a school in the border town of Nogales was transformed from a “D” school, according to the Department of Education, to a “B” after just one academic year of working with Justin. Justin is excited to work with professionals who are dedicated to improving the quality of education for students in Arizona and across the country.

"I just wanted to thank you for an excellent training session yesterday. This is honestly the most our 7-12 grade staff has engaged in data training and multiple people said they really got a lot out of the session. My assistant commented that he appreciated your style of presentation; specifically that you didn't talk down to people, you gave real-life examples, and that you drilled down your questioning when people responded."
