Jamar is a former education and government reporter who covered charter schools and school districts in Tucson before he came to the Association. As a reporter, Jamar explored the unique challenges facing charter schools, reporting on issues such as school funding, state education standards and accountability testing. He visited numerous campuses and received an up-close look at the uniqueness of charter schools and the positives of school choice. Jamar is a Philadelphia native and U.S. Army veteran. He received his B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University.
